Ways to Give

Pledging Your Support

If the success and the sustainability of a stable monastic community are important, please consider becoming a pledging member. Your monthly pledges support members of our monastic community, maintain our existing buildings, help meet our monthly operating expenses, provide translation services when required, support our visiting teachers, acquire ritual items and Dharma material, and reproduce Dharma texts for our monks and lay members. You can also designate that your offering be used for a specific purpose. Your tax-deductible contribution can be made in various ways:

  • ZELLE: Make your donations using the Zelle App. Contact us for details.

  • Through Our Website: Click the “DONATE” Button on the website to access several donation options.

  • Via U.S. Mail: Mail your check or money order in US dollars. Please do not mail cash. Mail your donation to:

    1. Dagom Geden Kunkyob Ling Monastery
      2123 N. Pennsylvania Street
      Indianapolis, IN 46202

    2. Please be sure to include your name and contact information for tax purposes. However, please note that under the law, any offerings made directly to monastics as personal offerings are not tax deductible.

  • On-site Offerings: Please place your offering in the donation box in our prayer space. Upon request, we can provide receipts.

  • PayPal Giving Fund: By using PayPal Giving Fund, 100% of your donations come to the monastery. Avoid searching through PayPal to donate, as this method does not ensure that the monastery will receive 100% of the donation.

Thus for everything that lives,
As far as are the limits of the sky,
May I be constantly their source of livelihood
Until they pass beyond all sorrow.

KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM: If you shop at Kroger, please consider selecting Dagom Geden Kunkyob Ling as your charity. Kroger has made it easy for our members and friends to communicate with its Community Rewards program. Simply go to its website address: www.kroger.com/communityrewards. This is a very simple way to support the monastery.

ELECTRONIC TRANSFERS AND OFFERINGS

Offerings by Electronic Fund Transfer: Monthly or quarterly offerings can be set up via electronic transfer or bill-paying options with your banking institution.

Offerings by International Bank Wire: Contact Ven. Lobzang Dorje at the Monastery office (via phone or email) to transfer funds by wire. We recommend this method for amounts of $3000 or more.

MATCHING GIFTS: You might be able to double your gift to the Monastery if you or your partner work for a company with a matching gift program.

OFFERING AIR MILES: You may choose to donate your airline miles so our monastics can travel to retreats, teachings, and other Dharma-related events.

PLANNED GIVING: You can designate Dagom Geden Kunkyob Ling Buddhist Monastery as a beneficiary in your Last Will and Testament. This may be done by: (1) naming a specific gift amount, (2) assigning a percentage of your total estate to the Monastery, and/or (3) designating a share of the remainder after gifts to your heirs.

STOCK TRANSFERS: For offerings in the form of stock, please write the office and let us know if you would like to offer stock. We can provide the necessary information which you can send to your broker.

TAX-FREE IRA ROLLER: If you are 70½ years old or older, you can make a qualified charitable distribution to Dagom Geden Kunkyob Ling as a tax benefit since it is a registered 501(c)(3) organization, and this becomes a very simple way to receive a tax benefit. The IRS allows you to give up to $100,000 per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity like the Monastery without having to pay income taxes on the money donated. You can make such distribution monthly or you can make a lump sum offering annually.

Other Ways to Help
Practicing Generosity

For sentient beings, poor and destitute,
May I become a treasure ever-plentiful,
And lie before them closely in their reach,
A varied source of all that they might need.
