DAGOM GEDEN KUNKYOB LING BUDDHIST MONASTERY
A Place of Refuge that Quells the Turbulent Sea of Suffering
Our Mission
For the benefit of all sentient beings, Dagom Geden Kunkyob Ling Buddhist Monastery teaches, fosters, and supports the Buddha Dharma in accordance with the Geden Ear Whispered Lineage established by Lama Je Tsongkhapa.
Our Vision
In our service to others, we gather to:
Preserve and protect the authentic transmission lineages of the Gelug Tradition founded by the great master Je Tsongkhapa and transmitted through the unbroken line of Gelug masters. In these ways, we guard against the dilution and degeneration of this pure tradition, which we preserve for the sake of all sentient beings.
Strengthen the roots of Buddhist practice in the West by following the intention of the Buddha and the great founding masters of the past. To this end, all our activities will center around a monastic community that is in alignment with the Vinaya tradition.
Create a setting for study and practice that welcomes people from every walk of life, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or religious affiliation. We especially encourage and support those who are sincerely and seriously interested in learning and practicing the peerless teachings of the great teacher Je Tsongkhapa and his lineage-holding disciples.
Support and assist monastic communities, organizations, or individuals that adhere to the same authentic tradition, especially those that originate in Tibet, India, China, and Mongolia.
Provide suitable surroundings for the support of and training in the disciplines, practices, and devotion of Tibetan Buddhism so that a vibrant Ordained Sangha can meet the spiritual needs of every person through their studies, prayers, and rituals.
Be a beacon of loving-kindness and compassion to all seeking refuge and protection as practitioners transform their minds to experience lasting happiness and benefit every sentient being.
